Pixy is a long time guild Member.  Her house was destroyed in a fire on Dec 10th.  Although her daughters (age 4 and 6) are fine, they lost everything including the family dog.  We are setting up a relief fund to help her through this very difficult time.  We have also established a message board so you can leave your thoughts and prayers with her.  We will keep in contact with Pixy and forward any donations to her.

Donations may be sent to the following address (Gith's business address) :

Abundant Life Counseling

3255 West 26th Street

Erie, PA 16506

Gift cards are a good idea.  We are checking with Pixy to see if she minds having her name posted on the website so checks can be made out directly to her.

All cash donations will be matched.  In other words, for every dollar donated to the above address, an additional dollar will be sent to Pixy.

Obviously, this is a very traumatic time for Pixy and her family.  We are reaching out to her to do what we can to help her through this period of pain and difficulty.  We are doing this not just because she is a guild member but because she is a human being in need.  And yes, we would do this for any guild member.

One of our core values as a guild is helping each other in a self-sacrificing way - now we get a chance to practice that value in real life.

Thanks in advance for your support,

Xan

Take the time
QuoteReply

Pixy,

This is a terrible time of the year for a tragedy, but the important thing is that you and your children are ok.  Material things can be replaced.

Take the time and make a descriptive list of the special things lost to the fire that cannot be replaced.  For example, that special picture of each child... describe what made the picture special so that as memory fades (and it does) you can refresh it from the description of the special twinkle in her eye at age 4 holding the spatula dripping with cookie dough... or how that was a picture of her with her favorite stuffed green frog that had become threadbare from too much love.  Those will be the memories you want to hold on to and hand down.  As hard as the season will be, it will also be a time for family to help you remember and capture in descriptive prose what was lost to the fire.

You have my thoughts and wishes for recovery.
